Siltech’s silicone resins belong to one of several classes. The first is dimethicone. This class of compounds provides a semi-dry feel on the skin, providing some cushion. The second class is the crosslinked dry resins, providing a powdery feel on the skin. The third class is the film formers.

Silube  R-5580

Silube 5580 is a clear, colorless, odorless and non-toxic combination of dimethyl polysiloxanes, specifically formulated for the personal care industry to provide an outstanding cushion and playtime, but remain dry to the touch after rub in. It provides outstanding slip, lubricity and feel on the skin. It is also recommended for use in color cosmetic products.  5580 is the highest molecular weight in the series, consequently t has the longest play time and the least dry feel in the series.

Silube R-5550

Silube 5550 is a clear, colorless, odorless and non-toxic combination of dimethyl polysiloxanes, specifically formulated for the personal care industry to provide an outstanding cushion and playtime, but remain dry to the touch after rub in. It provides outstanding slip, lubricity and feel on the skin. It is also recommended for use in color cosmetic products.  5550 is intermediate molecular weight in the series, having both a good play time and dry feel.

Silube R-5525

Silube 5525 is a clear, colorless, odorless and non-toxic combination of dimethyl polysiloxanes, specifically formulated for the personal care industry to provide an outstanding cushion and playtime, but remain dry to the touch after rub in. It provides outstanding slip, lubricity and feel on the skin. It is also recommended for use in color cosmetic products.  5580 is the lowest molecular weight in the series and consequently has the driest feel and the least play time.
